Purple Bliss™ Tomato is an extraordinary new variety that brings something truly unique to the vegetable garden! Producing an abundance of delicious, sweet and juicy cherry-sized tomatoes, Purple Bliss stands out with its spectacular deep royal-purple colour, not just on the skin but all the way through the flesh. Unlike traditional purple tomatoes, which generally develop their colour on the outside, Purple Bliss delivers a rich, vibrant purple from skin to centre, creating a stunning addition to salads, entertaining platters and home-grown meals.

Developed by renowned UK plant scientist Professor Cathie Martin, Purple Bliss is Australia's first approved genetically modified fresh food. By introducing two genes from the edible Snapdragon flower, scientists have enhanced the tomato's natural production of anthocyanins, the same pigments responsible for the beautiful colours found in blueberries, blackberries and other purple fruits. The result is a remarkable tomato that combines outstanding visual appeal with the delicious sweetness of a traditional cherry tomato.

Perfect for growing in vegetable gardens, raised beds or large patio pots, Purple Bliss is a wonderful choice for gardeners looking to grow something a little different. Its glossy, deep purple fruits are delicious enjoyed fresh from the vine, tossed through colourful salads, served on bruschetta or roasted whole. Combine with red, yellow and orange cherry tomatoes for a spectacular harvest of colour and flavour.

For best results, plant in a full sun position receiving at least 6 hours of sunlight daily, in rich, fertile, well-drained soil or a premium quality potting mix. Provide a sturdy stake or tomato cage for support as the plant grows, and water regularly, particularly during flowering and fruit development. Mulching will help retain soil moisture, while regular applications of tomato fertiliser will encourage healthy growth and a plentiful harvest. Pick the fruit when it develops a rich, glossy purple colour. Supplied in an 8 cm biodegradable jiffy pot that goes straight into the ground.

Please Note: Purple Bliss™ is a genetically modified tomato variety approved for food use in Australia following regulatory safety assessments.
