Our Ctenanthe Collection includes 1 each of four varieties (separately labelled):
Ctenanthe Amagris - Shows off beautiful pale green oval shaped leaveds delicately marked with a dark green herringbone pattern.
Ctenanthe burle-marxii - Also known as the 'Never Never' plant because it rarely flowers, or the Fishbone Prayer Plant because of it's striking leaf patterns, the contrasting deep green markings on the light green foliage and purple undersides are a highlight wherever it is used.
Ctenanthe Grey Star - A larger variety showing off elegant silvery grey foliage with contrasting deep green markings and an attractive purple underside.
Ctenanthe setosa - Shows off contrasting green markings on silver grey foliage and purple undersides.
Perfect for pots, Ctenanthe requires a well drained soil and a brightly lit position out of direct sunlight. Also known as the 'Never Never' plant because they rarely flower, Ctenanthe are part of the 'Prayer Plant' group that will fold their leaves up neatly at night or under high lighting situations. Preferring light humidity, Ctenanthe appreciate regular watering, but do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter. For best results fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few year using a good quality potting mix for indoor plants.
