Ctenanthe Collection

Our grower is looking to clear his igloos to make space for new stock as the weather begins to cool, so now is your chance to pick up these wonderfully easy-care indoor plants at an excellent saving.

Ctenanthe are easy-to-grow tropical plants that perform exceptionally well as indoor plants. Perfect for beginners, their beautifully contrasting foliage, intricate markings and colourful undersides make them an attractive addition to any indoor plant collection.

Our Ctenanthe Collection includes one each of four varieties, all separately labelled:

• Ctenanthe Amagris - Beautiful pale green, oval-shaped leaves delicately marked with a contrasting dark green herringbone pattern.
• Ctenanthe burle-marxii - Also known as the Never Never Plant or Fishbone Prayer Plant, this variety features striking deep green markings against light green foliage, complemented by attractive purple undersides.
• Ctenanthe Grey Star - A larger-growing variety featuring elegant silvery-grey foliage with contrasting deep green markings and attractive purple undersides.
• Ctenanthe setosa - Attractive silver-grey foliage featuring contrasting green markings and rich purple undersides.

Growing Ctenanthe

Perfect for growing in pots, Ctenanthe prefer a well-drained potting mix and a brightly lit position protected from direct sunlight. As part of the Prayer Plant group, their leaves can fold upwards at night or under high-light conditions, adding another interesting characteristic to these beautiful foliage plants.

Ctenanthe prefer light humidity and appreciate regular watering, but should never be allowed to become waterlogged. Excessively wet conditions can encourage fungal problems and are particularly important to avoid during winter.

For best results, fertilise regularly during active growth with a suitable slow-release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good-quality potting mix designed for indoor plants.
