Weeping Fig

A popular tropical evergreen tree, the Weeping Fig is an extremely tough indoor plant that is perfect for beginners. Capable of growing quite large in it's natural environment, Ficus benjamina grows quite well as a potted specimen and will happily thrive as a smaller shrub when contained in a pot.

Pprefers a warm sheltered position and some humidity, the Weeping Fig grows best in a brightly lit position. Direct sunlight can cause leaf scorch and poor lighting will lead to leaves dropping from this beautiful shrub so care needs to be taken when selecting a place for this beautiful plant to reside. If leaves begin to drop place it into a brighter position.

Ficus benjamina requires a well drained soil and prefers some humidity, however it does need to dry out a little between waterings. Do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter. For best results fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good quality potting mix for indoor plants.
