Sometimes known as Pink Agapanthus, Tulbaghia Variegated Society Garlic is a fast growing clumping perennial that shows off strappy grey green foliage with creamy white stripes. During the warmer months delicate star shaped mauve/pink flowers are held above the foliage on slender stems, looking all the world like miniature Agapanthus. A member of the Onion family, Tulbaghia is edible and the mild garlic flavour give this pretty plant it's common name.

Ideal for pots, borders and cottage gardens, the mild garlic fragrance emitted by the foliage gives it pest deterrent qualities, and makes it useful to grow in the vicinity or roses or in a vegetable garden as a companion plant.
Tulbaghia prefers a full sun position in a well drained soil and is tolerant of heat and drought. Will tolerate a light frost only.
