Lomandra longifolia is an exceptionally hardy Australian native grass-like plant, prized for its attractive fine, strappy green foliage and naturally dense, mounding growth habit. Producing clusters of small, fragrant yellow to cream flower spikes during Spring, this tough and versatile evergreen adds year-round texture, movement and structure to any garden or landscape.

Practically indestructible once established, Lomandra longifolia is an outstanding choice for low-maintenance gardens, mass plantings, borders, edging, decorative pots and large-scale landscaping projects. Its graceful, arching foliage creates a lush, natural appearance, making it equally at home in contemporary landscapes, native gardens and coastal plantings. Perfect for patio pots, large containers and feature planters, Lomandra adds attractive texture and greenery to outdoor entertaining areas, courtyards and balconies. Excellent for stabilising slopes and providing erosion control, this reliable Australian native thrives in even the most challenging garden conditions.

Extremely adaptable and easy to grow, Lomandra longifolia performs well in full sun to part shade and tolerates a wide range of soil types. Highly drought, frost and salt tolerant once established, it is particularly well suited to coastal gardens and exposed positions. When grown in pots, use a quality, well-drained potting mix and water regularly during dry periods. Requiring very little maintenance, plants can be cut back in early Autumn if needed to rejuvenate older foliage and encourage fresh, healthy growth. A fantastic choice for gardeners wanting a tough, attractive and dependable plant that looks great all year round.
