Also known as Box Leaf Privet, Ligustrum undulatum is a fantastic medium height hedging plant. This fast growing non invasive hedge plant is frost tolerant and requires little water once established. The small foliage size make it very suitable for topiary.
Suitable for almost any climate or soil type, Ligustrum grows well in a full sun to partly shaded position and is frost and drought tolerant. Ligustrum is an extremely hardy plant and grows well in both cool and warm climates, however, because of the berries that follow the tiny white flowers, this plant has been known for weediness. Being vigilant about pruning this hedge directly after flowering in Summer will eliminate this problem and ensure that local birds do not spread seeds.
