Perfect for low hedging, garden borders, edging and informal screening, Escallonia Pink Pixie is a versatile and reliable performer that quickly develops into an attractive, dense shrub. Its fine foliage responds well to regular clipping, making it ideal for creating neat, formal hedges, while its naturally rounded habit looks equally beautiful when left to grow as an informal flowering border. Also suitable for decorative pots and containers, Pink Pixie makes a lovely addition to patios, courtyards and outdoor entertaining areas. For hedging and borders, we recommend planting approximately 70cm apart to encourage a dense, continuous display.
Exceptionally hardy and easy to grow, Escallonia Pink Pixie thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. Particularly well suited to coastal gardens, exposed positions and hot, dry locations, this tough evergreen is frost tolerant, salt tolerant and drought hardy once established. Escallonia prefers good air circulation and is less suited to hot, humid climates. Requiring very little maintenance, plants can be lightly trimmed after flowering to maintain a neat shape and encourage fresh, bushy growth. A fantastic choice for gardeners wanting a colourful, dependable and low-maintenance flowering hedge or feature shrub.
