With its naturally upright, pyramidal shape and finely textured foliage, Castlewellan Gold creates a striking display whether planted individually as a garden accent or in rows to form a lush, colourful hedge. Its bright golden foliage provides a beautiful contrast against darker green shrubs and other garden plants, adding warmth and interest to any landscape.
Exceptionally tough, hardy and easy to grow, Castlewellan Gold tolerates frost, cold conditions and extended dry periods once established. Thriving in full sun to part shade and adapting to a wide range of well-drained soils, this reliable conifer requires minimal maintenance and responds well to regular trimming to maintain a neat, compact shape.
Perfect for creating a permanent garden feature, Castlewellan Gold is an excellent choice for both traditional and contemporary landscapes. For a dense hedge, space plants approximately 1m apart, or 1.5m apart when establishing a taller privacy screen. Plant in a sunny position for the best golden foliage colour and water regularly until established.
