Ideal as a ground cover in rockeries and on steep banks, this plant has a wide range of uses, from grass substitutes in Japanese gardens and Bonsais to forming a mounding creeping ground cover under other plants or in pots where it's unique form can be appreciated for what it is.
Scleranthus prefers a full sun to partly shaded position, requires a well drained soil and needs protection from frost and excessive humidity.
