Growing outside, Pittsburgh Ivy will climb a wall or cover the ground quickly and can be used to soften unsightly walls. Ivy can be a strong grower so do not plant where it can cause damage and ensure any trimmings are disposed of correctly; under the right conditions this plant can become invasive so care needs to be taken when considering this for an outdoor planting.
As an indoor plant, Ivy can be grown in a basket to cascade over and create a beautiful veil, or can be grown against a trellis or plant support. The size of this plant can be dictated by the pot size so it can be happily kept to a manageable size indoors.
Drought and frost hardy, this plant will cope well with any type of soil. For best results when potted fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good quality potting mix for indoor plants. Grows well in both full sun and part shade making this an extremely versatile indoor plant.
**Planting out these advanced plugs is the best way of avoiding transplant shock and ensuring your plants settle in quickly and grow on well as the plants are young and fresh. Also, the root systems are healthy with no chance of the encircling roots that pots will encourage. Our professional growers have been using this method for years as it's the quickest way of ensuring top quality plants and we are excited to be able to offer our customers the same.
CAUTION Harmful if eaten/skin irritant
