With its compact, spreading growth habit, this Peperomia is well-suited to small spaces and containers. It thrives in low light conditions and performs well under fluorescent lighting, making it an excellent choice for offices, desktops, and shaded indoor areas. Easy to care for and slow-growing, Peperomia Variegated is a reliable and attractive option for both beginner and experienced plant lovers.
Peperomia are perfect for pots and indoor culture and like most succulent types they require a well drained soil and a brightly lit position out of direct sunlight. Preferring light humidity, Peperomia appreciate deep watering once the soil has dried out somewhat, but do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter. For best results fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good quality potting mix for succulents. In warmer climates, these gorgeous plants will brighten up a sheltered shady position outside.
**Variegated plants can display different levels of shading and colouration depending on levels of light. In brighter, indirect light, their variegation often becomes more pronounced and vibrant, while in lower light conditions, the colours may become more muted or the plant may produce more solid green leaves in an effort to photosynthesise more efficiently. To maintain the most striking foliage, it's best to position variegated plants in a spot with bright, filtered light—avoiding direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
