Fruit must be picked when fully ripe (black), as it will not continue to ripen off the tree. While very cold-hardy, Hicks Fancy also performs reliably in warmer climates, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of regions.
Plant in a full sun position in well-fertilised, well-drained soil. As with all productive trees, consistent pruning, fertilising, and regular watering—especially during the growing season—will encourage a healthy tree and a bountiful fruit yield.
