Lychnis Rose Campion

A stunning perennial with bright silvery grey foliage and impossibly bright deep pink flowers, Lychnis Rose Campion is incredibly frost hardy and will grow and flower well with a minimum of watering in most climates. This hardy plant thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun, making it perfect for sunny borders, cottage gardens, or even rock gardens where the abundance of brightly coloured flowers held above the foliage will attract bees and butterflies to your garden. A short lived perennial, Lychnis thrives in well-drained soil and full sun to partly shaded position. Lychnis tends to last only 3-5 years before looking a bit raggedy, but plants will usually drop a few seeds in this timeframe and a new one or two will replace the older version. Once established, Rose Campion is relatively drought-tolerant, allowing it to flourish even in less-than-ideal conditions. Rose Campion benefits from deadheading to encourage more blooms and to maintain a tidy appearance.
