Japanese Windflower Bowles Pink

Japanese Windflower Bowles Pink, is a beautiful Autumn flowering perennial that signals the close of Summer with its graceful, tall flower stems and stunning deep pink single blooms. These elegant flowers rise above rich green foliage and gently sway in the breeze, adding movement and colour to the late-season garden.

This variety grows best in a semi-shaded position where the soil is moist but well-drained and enriched with organic matter. Although drought tolerant once established, it benefits from additional watering during the Summer months, particularly as the flower buds begin to form. A light application of fertiliser at this time will encourage a more vibrant and generous display. Care should be taken not to overwater, as the plant does not tolerate overly wet conditions.

After flowering, cut the plant back to its basal rosette in Winter to prepare it for the next growing season.

Japanese Windflowers are generally easy to grow, with good resistance to both drought and frost. However, they do require some care when first planted. To help them establish successfully, enrich the soil with well-rotted animal manure and ensure they are kept consistently moist without becoming waterlogged.
