Heuchera Black Forest Cake

Heuchera Black Forest Cake is a spectacular foliage perennial that combines dramatic, rich chocolate-black leaves with an abundance of vibrant, cherry-red flowers. The beautifully rounded, gently scalloped foliage forms a dense, compact mound of deep, glossy colour, providing a stunning backdrop for the delicate sprays of brilliant red, bell-shaped blooms that rise above the leaves on slender stems during Spring and Summer. The striking contrast between the dark foliage and vivid flowers creates a truly eye-catching display.

With its naturally neat, compact habit and outstanding foliage colour, Black Forest Cake is perfect for adding depth and contrast to garden beds, shaded borders, woodland gardens and decorative patio pots. Its rich, almost-black leaves provide a dramatic feature throughout the seasons, looking particularly spectacular when combined with lime-green, silver or brightly coloured foliage plants. Ideal for mass plantings, colourful garden edging and mixed container displays, this beautiful Heuchera also produces nectar-rich flowers that attract bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Hardy, reliable and wonderfully easy to grow, Heuchera Black Forest Cake thrives in a partly shaded position with rich, moist, well-drained soil. It will tolerate some morning sun but appreciates protection from harsh afternoon sunlight, particularly in warmer climates. Water regularly during dry periods, especially while plants are establishing, and remove spent flower stems and older leaves to maintain a neat, attractive appearance. A magnificent, low-maintenance perennial that delivers exceptional foliage colour and a delightful display of vibrant flowers.
