Salvia Hot Lips is a spectacular, long-flowering perennial shrub renowned for its striking red and white bi-coloured flowers and exceptional garden performance. Producing masses of charming, two-toned blooms from spring through autumn, and often for much of the year in warmer climates, this eye-catching Salvia creates a vibrant display that is guaranteed to attract attention. One of its most fascinating features is its variable flower colour, with blooms appearing in combinations of brilliant red and pure white, or occasionally entirely red or white, sometimes all on the same plant!

With its naturally bushy growth habit, aromatic green foliage and abundance of colourful flowers, Salvia Hot Lips is perfect for cottage gardens, perennial borders, mixed garden beds and decorative pots. Its delicate flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and nectar-feeding birds, bringing colour, movement and life to the garden throughout its extended flowering season. Equally beautiful when planted in groups or used as a colourful feature, this delightful Salvia is a fantastic choice for creating a relaxed, informal garden display.

Hardy, vigorous and wonderfully easy to grow, Salvia Hot Lips thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and requires very little watering, making it an excellent choice for waterwise gardens, sunny borders and low-maintenance planting schemes. Its ability to perform in challenging conditions makes it a reliable favourite for gardeners wanting maximum colour with minimal effort.

Regularly removing spent flowers and giving plants a light trim throughout the growing season will encourage fresh growth and continued flowering. A more substantial prune after the main flowering period will help maintain a neat, compact shape and promote strong, bushy regrowth for the following season. With its unique colour-changing blooms, exceptionally long flowering season and easy-care nature, Salvia Hot Lips is a must-have for any colourful garden.
