During Spring and Summer, delicate clusters of small white flowers appear amongst the rich green foliage, adding a charming seasonal display while attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators. Its naturally bushy habit and fine-textured foliage make it a wonderful alternative to traditional Box hedging, providing year-round colour and structure with minimal maintenance.
Hardy and easy to grow, Hebe buxifolia thrives in a full sun to part shade position in well-drained soil. Tolerant of coastal conditions, wind and light frosts once established, this reliable shrub responds well to light trimming to maintain a compact, formal shape. Avoid waterlogged soils and provide some protection from severe frosts.
Perfect for creating attractive low hedges, defining pathways, mass planting or adding evergreen structure to courtyards, patios and garden beds, Hebe buxifolia is a wonderful low-maintenance choice for both formal and informal gardens.
