Fuchsia Double Upright Collection

Our Fuchsia Double Upright Collection is a selection of 4 beautiful Fuchsia plants (seperately labelled), that are ideal for growing in pots or protected gardens. These varieties have an upright growth habit and stunning double flowers.

Pattie Sue - A Double Upright type with a medium bushy growth habit that shows off beautifully shaped double flowers with pink sepals and corolla. With a willingness to flower well through the cooler months, this an absolutely stunning variety will be a focal point wherever it is used.

Weald View Big Red - A large flowered Fuchsia with a vigrous upright growth habit making it suitable for pots and protected gardens. The large deep red flowers are fully double and will flare open to create a stunning display.

Indian Maid - A larger growing Double Lax variety suited to a basket or sheltered garden bed. Flowering for most of the year, Indian Maid shows off red sepals and a corolla of royal purple fading through to deep red, giving the lovely effect of two different flower colours on the same bush.

Weald View Cabaret - A Double Lax type with a medium bushy growth habit that will feature large flowers with a pale pink corolla and dark pink to red sepals.

For best results plant out mid-Autumn or pot on to larger pot (approx 175mm) for planting in the spring after the worst frost have finished. Feed with organic fertilisers as needed and water well to encourage a more established root system. Prune by the end of winter or when you plant out after the frost. Always trim plants at the beginning of January for the first summer in the garden, but each year for pot grown Fuchsias.

Fuchsias are a very rewarding plant to grow and they display their magnificent flowers prominently for a very long time and grow in a wide range of sheltered positions. Whilst the main flush of flowers is during early Summer, most Fuchsias will show off their magnificent flowers for most of the year.

Trailing and Lax varieties prefer wire baskets lined with coco fibre or tall or raised pots and tubs, as they have a low growing or trailing habit. Lax Bush and Upright Bush varieties are suitable for baskets, pots and protected gardens as these have a more upright habit.

Fuchsias need a sheltered dappled shade position and shelter from damaging and drying winds. Use a premium free draining potting mix and keep the roots cool and drained. For best growth feed regularly and ensure plants never dry out, particularly in the warmer weather. Prune hard in August and tip prune in January, and always feed after pruning to encourage a flush of new growth.
