Dwarf Plum Mariposa

Dwarf Japanese Blood Plum Mariposa is a vigorous, upright-growing tree that produces heavy crops of large, heart-shaped blood plums. The fruit features deep red skin and intensely dark red flesh, known for its rich, sweet flavour — ideal for fresh eating, preserves, jams, and juices.

Partially self-fertile, Mariposa will fruit on its own but yields are greatly improved with a suitable cross-pollinator nearby. We recommend Elephant Heart, Narrabeen, or Santa Rosa for best results.

This compact fruiting tree is an excellent choice for home gardens, especially where space is limited. Grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock, it grows to a manageable height of around 2 metres, while still producing full-sized, high-quality fruit.

Plant in a full sun position in well-fertilised, free-draining soil. As with all fruiting trees, regular pruning, feeding, and consistent watering—especially during the warmer months—will help ensure a healthy tree and a generous crop.
