One of the most popular and widely grown Nashi varieties in Australia, Dwarf Nashi Pear Nijisseiki is prized for its crisp, juicy fruit and heavy cropping habit. The rounded fruits have bronze to green skin with a refreshing white flesh that perfectly blends the crunch of an apple with the sweet, subtle flavour of a pear. Delicious when eaten fresh, the fruit is also ideal for juicing, producing a naturally sweet and fragrant drink.

Grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock, this compact Nashi pear will reach just 35–40% of standard tree size, making it an excellent choice for courtyards, small backyards, or espalier planting. Despite its reduced size, it remains a vigorous and productive variety, ideal for urban growers looking to enjoy homegrown fruit in limited space.
Nijisseiki is partially self fertile, but more fruit is produced with another variety nearby. Suitable cross pollinators are Williams, Bon Chretien & Chojuro.
Requires a full sun position in a well fertilised soil. Like all produce plants, correct pruning, regular fertilising and watering will result in an abundance of fruit.
