Dwarf Almond Self Pollinating

Dwarf Almond Self Pollinating is a low maintenance, reliable cropping tree with an upright growth habit. Grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock and self fertile meaning only one tree is required, this smaller growing tree is a great choice for a home orchard, pot or smaller garden. Almonds have an open canopy and will feature beautiful white-pink blooms in Spring. after the flowers it produces large, broad paper shelled kernels that ripen in Autumn; harvest these just as the shell starts to open. Almonds an be eaten fresh or roasted, and have a good sweet flavour and are high in fibre and nutrients.

Plant in a frost free position in the garden in well drained soil, taking care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water well until tree is established and fertilise when planting and also after new growth appears. Pruning the tree when planting will encourage new growth. Requires a full sun position in a well fertilised soil. Like all produce plants, correct pruning, regular fertilising and watering will result in an abundance of fruit.
