Drimiopsis African False Hosta

A super tough little bulb that produces eye catching green leaves with purple blotches, Drimiopsis African False Hosta will thrive in a shady position with a minimum of care.

Also known as the Leopard Plant, the gorgeous foliage will usually die down during the cooler months, but in more temeprate areas this delightful plant can be evergreen. Quick to establish, this clumping ground cover will produce 30cm tall white flower buds that open into scented green flowers during the spring and summer months.

Drimiopsis African False Hosta prefers a full shade position where the colouration on the foliage will be at it's best, but will grow well with morning sun only or with exposure to mottled sunlight. Tolerating both heat and drought, this attractive plant will also grow well indoors where a gritty free draining potting mix or soil and minimal watering is preferred. If grown outside, a frost free position is best.
