Creeping White Thyme

A versatile and hardy groundcover, Creeping White Thyme is a maintenance free, hardy, evergreen edible herb with aromatic foliage and masses of attractive white flowers in Summer.

With a dense matting growth habit, Creeping Thyme is an excellent choice for a lawn substitute and is great planted between pavers and stepping stones, with the distinct fragrance releasing as they are walked on. The aromatic emerald green foliage copes well with light foot traffic and it responds well to mowing.

Drought tolerant and capable of growing well in poor but well draining soils. Creeping Thyme is a sun lover and is ideal for stone walls, rockeries, borders and container planting, not to mention it is a wonderful addition to the herb garden where it adds a wonderful flavour to a wide variety of dishes.

Thyme has been used medicinally for aeons as it is full of antioxidants and has been used for cleansing and purifying since the beginning of civilisation. As well as having good antiseptic properties and is also an aid to digestion, Thyme is an incredibly useful plant on nearly every level, and the attractive white flowers in Summer are bee and butterfly attracting.
