Blechnum Fish Bone Water Fern

A small native fern that grows well throughout most of Australia, Blechnum Fish Bone Water Fern is a frost tolerant rosette forming Fern that will tolerate more sun that other ferns, however in warmer climates dappled light is the most this attractive Fern will take. Naturally found along river beds and other cool damp areas, this attractive Fern is an excellent choice for adding a tropical touch. Normally a spreading type of Fern, the Blechnum Fish Bone Water Fern can grow a small trunk making it an attractive and hardy addition to the garden or pots.

Growing well in a shaded damp spot, most Ferns also grow well when used as an indoor houseplant. Simply pop them into a decorative pot, preferably with a saucer that will hold water and keep the humidity high, water and fertilise regularly and enjoy. This Fern is easy to grow and will add a delicate touch to a shaded garden, and when grown in a clump will make an attractive and lush display.
