A lovely hybrid water Iris from North America, American Blue Flag Iris Gerald Darby makes a beautiful display for many months of the year. Springtime foliage is deep purple at the base toning through to green leaf tips and as Spring turns to Summer purple flowers form at the end of almost black flower stems.

This easy to grow water Iris is ideal for planting in boggy areas and shallow ponds but will grow well in a garden bed or large pot so long as it is well watered throughout the growing season.
Flag Iris prefer a full sun to part shade position, but will flower best in full sun. In very cold areas this normally evergreen plant may die down and become dormant.
