Agonis Burgundy Willow Myrtle

Often confused with Agonis Afterdark, Agonis Burgundy Willow Myrtle is also known as the Burgundy Willow Peppermint. A low maintenance Australian Native, this Agonis shows off spectacularly lush foliage, with new growth shaded a deep burgundy that reflects a crimson colour when the light shines through the foliage. Changing to dark green as the leaves age, they leave the dramatic burgundy highlights at the tip of the plant. In late Spring, small white flowers appear peeking through the dark foliage giving this tree an ethereal appearance.

This attractive small tree has a naturally pendulous habit making it perfect for screening or defining an area, and can be kept pruned if desired, making an excellent choice for hedging and screening.

Agonis requires a well drained soil and grows happily in coastal areas. Plant in full sun or part shade and requires protection from heavy frosts while young.
