This Summer to Autumn blooming perennial features tall flower spikes bearing clusters of creamy white highly fragrant star shaped double flowers. Highly regarded for adding fragrance to bouquets and cut flower arrangements, the flowers are also used for the perfume industry where they are prized for their intoxicating fragrance. Their long lasting flowers make them ideal for cut flowers and they are used in traditionally in flower garlands and leis.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRequiring a full sun to very lightly shaded position, Tuberose 'bulbs' require about 4 months of warm temperatures to flower and do not grow well in areas that have a frost during Winter unless grown in a sheltered warm position. Plant the rhizomes about 5-10 cm deep in a well drained soil and ensure the soil does not dry out, especially when plants are blooming as this will affect the quality and quantity of the flowers. Tuberose plants require a good deal of energy to perform well so will benefit from regular applications of fertiliser during the growing season, and will be happier if planted into a well prepared and fertilised soil so they get off to a good start.
