A hardy vigorous growing Rhubarb, the thick stems of green and red have a really good flavour.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRhubarb prefers a full sun position but will tolerate part shade, and plants can struggle in warmer or humid climates, even with adequate water. Rhubarb requires a cold Winter to grow well, and the best stem colour is produced in the cooler months.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePlant crowns in an open sunny position in a well drained improved soil. Ensure plants have adequat water in dry periods for optimum growth. Remove any flower stems that may form and harvest only lightly in the first year. Crowns can be left undisturbed for up to 5 years before needing to be divided. Harvest stems by pulling the thickest stalks gently off the crown. Ensure the whole stem comes away as any stub left will rot and cause disease.
