monstera-thai-constellation
Monstera Thai Constellation

Monstera Thai Constellation is a stunning variegated version of the extremely easy to grow houseplant, Monstera deliciosa, and it gets it's wonderful name from the elegantly marbled spotted and splashed leaves that look like the stunning night sky. Unlike other varieties, Thai Constellation has a very stable variegated gene so there will be variations in the colouring but every leaf will display unique splashes and spots in varying shades of creamy green and white.

Thai Constellation is a little more tricky than other Monstera; but it does not take much to find the correct situation for this slower growing cultivar to thrive in your house. Like all variegated plants, the pale sections do not contain chlorophyll so this plant is extremely sensitive to direct sunlight, which will burn the delicate foliage and cause unsightly brown patches on the pale sections of the leaf. However, because only the green section of the leaf is the working factory for this plant, it will need a position a bit brighter than an all green Monstera in order to thrive. Therefore, a brightly lit position out of any sort of direct sunlight and away from a heat source is essential for this gem to survive and thrive. We have found that Thai Constellation requires similar sort of watering as it's all green cousin, however, it does not tolerate drying out completely, and it will need more humidity to keep the stunning foliage happy and healthy. As this plant matures, individual leaves can grow to a fairly large size, just it's cousin, the Fruit Salad plant.

Monstera are perfect for pots and indoor culture and they require a well drained soil and a brightly lit position out of direct sunlight. Preferring light humidity, Monstera appreciate regular watering, but do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter. For best results fertilise regularly with a slow release fertiliser and repot every few years using a good quality potting mix for indoor plants. **A potting mix with larger particles tends to be best for this plant. Mixing a small amount of orchid mix to an indoor potting mix can help to open the soil up enough to keep this plant happy.

CAUTION Harmful if eaten/skin & eye irritant

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0928/0805/2920/files/monstera-lplmontco-thai-constellation.jpg?v=1785386675
