Use a premium potting mix and a controlled release formula to ensure healthy growth. Prune at the end of winter, later if in a frosty area, and trim plants at the beginning of January for Autumn and early Winter flowers. Ensure baskets are grown in a semi-shaded area, away from hot Summer sun and drying winds.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFuchsias are a very rewarding plant to grow and they display their magnificent flowers prominently for a very long time and grow in a wide range of sheltered positions. Whilst the main flush of flowers is during early Summer, most Fuchsias will show off their magnificent flowers for most of the year.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTrailing and Lax varieties prefer wire baskets lined with coco fibre or tall or raised pots and tubs, as they have a low growing or trailing habit. Lax Bush and Upright Bush varieties are suitable for baskets, pots and protected gardens as these have a more upright habit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFuchsias need a sheltered dappled shade position and shelter from damaging and drying winds. Use a premium free draining potting mix and keep the roots cool and drained. For best growth feed regularly and ensure plants never dry out, particularly in the warmer weather.
