Salvia Lancelot

A bold and architectural perennial prized for its dramatic silvery-green foliage and tall spikes of vibrant rosy-purple flowers, Salvia Lancelot is a fast-growing variety and forms a striking shrub-like presence in the garden, making it ideal as a feature plant in mixed borders or Mediterranean-style plantings.

The soft, felted leaves are highly ornamental, offering year-round texture and contrast, while the long-lasting flower spikes appear from late spring through summer, attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in abundance. Lancelot is more compact and tidier than the species form, with improved branching and flower density.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this drought-tolerant sage is perfect for hot, dry gardens and coastal conditions. Though not fully frost-hardy, it required a sheltered position in cooler climates.

Ideal for perennial borders Salvias are a riot of colour from Spring through to Autumn. Usually quite drought tolerant and only needing watering during extremely dry periods these perennials are a very good choice for waterwise flower beds and difficult spots and will attract birds and bees into your garden. A good pruning after flowering will ensure strong bushy regrowth for the next season. Most Salvias are suitable for a full sun to part shade position and require very little water once established. Perfect for pots and containers.
