Buddleja Colvilei

Buddleja colvilei, commonly known as Colvile's Butterfly Bush, is a spectacular flowering shrub renowned for its magnificent, pendulous clusters of large, tubular flowers in beautiful shades of rosy pink to deep rose-red. Each bloom features a contrasting pale throat, creating an exotic, almost orchid-like appearance. Flowering from late Spring through Summer, the impressive blooms attract butterflies, bees and other beneficial pollinators.

This striking, fast-growing shrub features large, elongated green leaves and gracefully arching branches, creating a lush, tropical appearance in the garden. One of the most spectacular of the Buddleja species, it makes an outstanding feature plant for larger gardens, sheltered borders and informal screening, where its extraordinary flowers can be fully appreciated.

Plant in a sunny to partly shaded position in fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly during establishment and dry periods, and prune lightly after flowering to maintain a tidy shape. Best suited to a sheltered position protected from strong winds and severe frosts, Buddleja colvilei will reward gardeners with a breathtaking floral display year after year.
