This variety is highly regarded in the USA for its repeat flowering capacity throughout Summer and its fragrant, compact size making it a great plant for full sun to part shade positions. Gardenia Sweet Star will pot well and enjoys a good trim to maintain its shape.
Gardenia are an ideal specimen or potted plant with dark green glossy foliage and masses of blooms, but equally good planted as a hedge. A beautiful addition to a cottage or scented garden. Flowers from late spring into summer and autumn. Prefers warmer climates but can be grown in cooler climates if planted in a protected position against a wall. Frost tender so must have protection in a cooler climate.
