Potatoe Onions are larger than Shallots but smaller than single Onion bulbs, and this type of Onion stores extremely well after harvesting, with the bulbs lasting a good 6-8 months if stored correctly. Crops are usually harvested in the warmer months, before flowering but as the tips of the foliage begins to dry off. For best results plant into a full sun position in well drained soil.
