Featuriing masses of fragrant cream flowers and glossy deep green leaves, Fairy Magnolia Cream is a quick growing plant that grows well in full sun and part shade. The masses of fragrant blossoms will create a show stopping display against the compact and bushy growth habit.
The Fairy Magnolia series of Magnolias are ideal small specimen trees especially where a show-stopper is needed, but space is limited. And since they are naturally bushy, they also make fabulous flower-smothered hedges making them an excellent choce to hide or mark a boundary. Planting about 1 metre apart for hedging is recommended. These Magnolias are happy growing in full sun through to part shade. They'll grow in any soil but do prefer well worked crumbling soils. Avoid heavy, waterlogged locations. Magnolia Fairy Magnolias® have a compact, bushy growth habit with medium dark green foliage. Flower buds open at virtually every leaf axil, each opening to fragrant blooms 6cm (2.5") across. They flower early to late spring with spot flowers year round. These Magnolias perform best when watered moderately over Summer. They will handle drier conditions once established. In the garden, apply general fertiliser after the Spring flower-show: in containers use a slow release fertiliser in Spring & Autumn.
