Lilly Pilly plants, including popular varieties from the Acmena and Syzygium genera, are among Australia's most versatile and widely grown native plants.
Renowned for their attractive foliage, colourful new growth, fluffy flowers and decorative berries, Lilly Pillies make excellent hedging, screening, topiary, feature and container plants.
Fast growing and easy to maintain, Lilly Pillies create dense evergreen growth that provides year-round privacy and structure in the garden. New foliage often emerges in vibrant shades of bronze, red, pink or copper, adding extra seasonal interest before maturing to glossy green leaves.
During spring and summer, Lilly Pillies produce masses of cream-white fluffy flowers that attract bees and beneficial pollinators, followed by colourful berries that are enjoyed by birds and wildlife. Their adaptability to pruning also makes them one of the best choices for formal hedges and shaped garden features.
Thriving in a wide range of conditions, Lilly Pillies perform well in full sun to part shade and are suitable for both coastal and inland gardens. Once established, they are relatively drought tolerant and require minimal maintenance to keep them looking their best.
