Kniphofia Poco Red

Kniphofia Poco Red is a spectacular dwarf Red Hot Poker that produces an abundance of vibrant, fiery-red flower spikes above attractive, grass-like green foliage. Flowering prolifically from Summer through Autumn, its brilliant, upright blooms create a dazzling display of rich, glowing colour that brings warmth and excitement to the garden. The nectar-rich flowers are also highly attractive to bees, butterflies and nectar-feeding birds, adding even more life and interest to this stunning perennial.

With its naturally compact, clumping habit and neat, arching foliage, Poco Red is perfect for adding bold colour and vertical interest to sunny garden beds, borders, rockeries and decorative patio pots. Growing to approximately 50cm tall, this delightful variety delivers all the dramatic appeal of traditional Kniphofias in a smaller, more manageable form. Particularly spectacular when planted in groups or massed for a vibrant display, its striking red flower spikes contrast beautifully with the lush green foliage and complement a wide range of other flowering perennials. An excellent choice for creating eye-catching displays in smaller gardens and contemporary landscapes.

Hardy, reliable and wonderfully easy to grow, Kniphofia Poco Red thrives in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Once established, it is tolerant of heat and dry conditions, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens. Water regularly while establishing and during extended dry periods, and remove spent flower spikes to encourage continued blooming and maintain a neat, attractive appearance. A brilliant, long-flowering perennial that delivers months of spectacular colour with minimal effort.
