Begonia Amphioxus

A rare and exotic species Begonia, Amphioxus features thin light green foliage with a lance shaped winged tip at each ends. The bright green leaves are edged with red and show off large maroon to red spots giving this treasure an alien like appearance. Preferring more humidity to other Begonias, we recommend this plant be grown in a terrarium or specialist indoor garden as it will do best when in an enclosed environment.

A bright humid position, away from direct sunlight and a rich well drained soil are a must for this specialist plant. Regular watering is essential but plants do not like to be waterlogged, and it is best if the delicate foliage is kept dry to avoid fungal diseases.

Preferring fairly good humidity, this Begonia appreciates regular watering, but do not let the plant become waterlogged as this will cause fungal issues and most likely death, particularly during Winter.

Extra care is taken when packaging these plants however they are delicate and some leaves may become detached during transit. Dislodged leaves can be easily re-propagated into new plants.
