Flowering repeatedly from early spring through summer, Cool Steel™ produces dense, ball-shaped blooms up to 20cm in diameter. Its striking soft mauve blue flowers make it ideal for dry gardens or for adding a lush, tropical feel in cooler climates. The abundant blooms are rich in nectar and pollen, attracting a wide range of pollinators, including butterflies and bees.
Unlike older varieties, this improved Agapanthus offers excellent drought, frost, and humidity tolerance, making it a standout choice across most Australian climates.
With its low seed set and reduced seed viability compared to traditional Agapanthus, Cool Steel™ is also a safer option for planting in environmentally sensitive areas.
Stylish, resilient, and exceptionally floriferous — Cool Steel™ is truly a modern landscape winner.
Agapanthus plants are the perfect plant for a wide range of garden aspects, great for edging a driveway or fence line. They are hardy, low maintenance plants that are tolerant of drought and poor soil. These plants are known for producing an abundance of stunning, umbrella-like clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers, which can be blue, purple, or white, depending on the species and variety.
