Dianella, commonly known as Flax Lily, is a versatile Australian native prized for its attractive strappy foliage, colourful berries and outstanding landscape performance.
Available in a range of sizes and foliage colours, including green, blue-grey and variegated forms, Dianella is a popular choice for modern gardens, commercial landscapes and low-maintenance planting schemes.
Highly adaptable and easy to grow, Dianella thrives in a wide range of conditions, from full sun to shaded positions. Its neat clumping habit makes it ideal for borders, mass plantings, feature gardens and container displays, where it provides year-round texture and colour.
During spring and summer, Dianella produces delicate blue to purple flowers followed by ornamental blue or purple berries that add further seasonal interest and attract birds to the garden. Many varieties are drought tolerant once established, making them an excellent choice for water-wise and low-maintenance landscapes.
