Gloriosa Lily

A breathtaking fusion of elegance and exotic beauty, the Gloriosa Lily is also known as the Glory or Flame Lily. This captivating climber bears flamboyant upside-down petals in vibrant shades of crimson red with a yellow base and edged in bright yellow creating a sense of drama and luxury for any vertical space as they dance like flames in the garden or floral arrangements.

Ideal for garden beds or containers, the Gloriosa Lily is a hardy, easy-to-grow plant that thrives in full sun or partial shade, bringing a tropical touch to any garden. Easily producing 5 to 7 flowers per tuber, the Gloriosa is a lightweight vine that climbs by tendrils on their leaves making it suitable for climbing up trellises, fencing or even through other plants where the vibrant flowers create stunning highlights wherever it is planted.

Please note that this plant can be quite vigorous and may become invasive in certain climates if left unchecked; hence the restrictions to some states. In other states, be sure to monitor its growth and manage it responsibly to prevent unwanted spreading.

Plant in Spring or early Summer, once the last frost has passed. Select a rich well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. Plant approximately 3 to 4 cm below the surface with the tuber planted horizontally in the ground. Caution: handle tuber with care, ensuring the growth tip is not damaged before planting.
